Mattress Construction

The Breeze consists of a cover fabric and three layers of foam at varying density levels fulfilling different functions. The mattress is available in three size versions: 8'', 10'' and 12''. These versions share the same structure and characteristics.

The layers of the SweetNight Breeze

Cover: Soft rayon and cotton fabric, which is hypoallergenic, dust-resistant and highly breathable.

Comfort Layer: Malleable gel-infused memory foam capable of molding to sleepers' body mitigating pressure. The gel assists in regulating temperature by dispersing heat.

Transition Layer: Medium density AirFlow foam curbing sinking and reducing heat retention.

Support Layer: High density poly foam supporting sleepers by generating lift and adding durability to the mattress as a whole.

Feel

The soft Breeze's cover has plush and smooth texture. It's breathability keeps the surface of the mattress cool and dry even after a long night's sleep.

The most noticeable and immediate experience sleepers will have upon lying on the mattress is deep cozy sinkage, which will envelops and sooth their body giving a pleasant melting-into-the-bed sensation.

The denser foam in the transition and support layers will counter this sinkage making sleepers feel stable on the mattress. As explained below, heavier sleepers will plunge too deep into the mattress and may, consequently, suffer from discomfort accompanied by pain in different areas in their body.

Pressure Relief

The Breeze is a good choice for side sleepers weighing up to 250 pounds. The cushy memory foam in the comfort layer will target their shoulders and hips reducing pressure. The medium density and high density foam in the transition and support layers will provide sufficient lift to prevent sagging in these sensitive areas.

In contrast, heavyweight side sleepers won't get the support they need from the breeze. Excess sinking, mainly in their hips and shoulders, may throw their spine out of its natural alignment causing pain.

Lightweight back sleepers will feel highly comfortable lying on the Breeze. The soft comfort layer will cradle their lumbar and thoracic spine relaxing the muscles and relieving everyday aches and pains.

Back sleepers weighing up to 250 pounds will be better supported by the Breeze's 10'' and 12'' models. Thicker transition and support layers will more effectively handle their heavier weight generating greater lift side by side with the the deep pressure reliving contouring provided by the comfort layer.

Heavyweight back sleepers will find the breeze to be too soft. It won't be able to keep their spine properly aligned as a result of excess sinking. These sleepers should opt for SweetNight's firmer mattresses, such as the Island or the the Ocean Blue.

Most lightweight stomach sleepers will like the Breeze. The contouring memory foam in its comfort layer will cushion their abdomen helping reduce pressure in their lower back. The high density foam in the support layer will elevate the area below their rib cage enabling them to maintain a healthy sleeping position.

Their heavier counterparts who weigh more than 150 pound will sink too deep into the bed. They're recommended seeking a more supportive mattress.

Motion Isolation

The Breeze does a wonderful job isolating motion. The memory foam in its comfort layer responds slowly to pressure and, therefore, absorbs most of the kinetic energy generated by sleepers' movements. And what is not absorbs is blocked by the medium density foam in the transition layer. Practically speaking, sleeping on the Breeze, you'll enjoy quiet and peaceful nights even if your partner tends to move a lot.

Repositioning

Repositioning is definitely not one of the Breeze's strongest points. The malleable memory foam generates too much sinkage which hampers movement on the mattress' surface.

Lightweight sleepers won't have much of a problem. The high-density foam in the support layer will elevate their body well enough to enable them to move on the mattress quite easily.

Heavier sleepers, on the other hand, won't be adequately supported. They'll have to exerts much more effort in order to change their sleeping positions.

Edge Support

Lightweight sleepers will feel stable enough lying around the perimeter of the Breeze thanks to the support provided by the high density poly foam in the bottom layer of the mattress.

Unfortunately, we can't say the same regarding heavier sleepers. They'll feel the edge giving way under their weight. They won't fall off the bed, but they'll want to move towards the more stable center reducing their potential sleep surface.

Heat Retention

Mattresses which consist of soft and contouring foam tend to retain heat as a result of sinking. The Breeze is an exception to that. Its breathable cover fabric effectively wicks away warm air reducing perspiration. The Gel in the memory foam-based comfort layer disperses heat across the mattress. The ventilated foam in the transition layer enables free flow of air in and out of the mattress aiding in the cooling process.

In other words, the Breeze does a wonderful job in providing a cool sleeping environment, which is a major plus for people living in hot and humid areas.

Frame & Foundation

The Breeze can be placed on the majority of the foundations, frames and adjustable bases you can buy on the market provided that they're strong enough to support its weight. SweetNight offers it own Tranquil Frame.

The Tranquil is an adjustable base made of solid wood and aluminum. It has 3 adjustment modes (with independent head incline of up to 60° and foot incline of up to 40°) and 3 preset positions, including TV, zero-gravity and memory. It comes with a retainer bar, sensors on both sides, one side pocket, dual USB charging ports on both sides and LED lights under the bed.

The Tranquil can carry up to of 705 pounds. Minimum and maximum prices are $647 and $1,088 for a Full and Split King mattress sizes respectively. The base is sold with a 100-night trial and is backed up by a 10-year warranty.

  • Defects in workmanship and materials.
  • Physical flaws, including indentations on the surface greater than 1.5''.
  • Premature erosion of the foam leading to splitting or cracking despite proper handling of the mattress.

The warranty doesn't cover accidental damage like spills, stains, tears and burning marks as well as an increase in the softness of the foam resulting from natural wear-and-tear.

The warranty will be voided in case the mattress has been repaired by an unauthorized provider or personnel or disassembled by the customer and if the warranty card or purchasing invoice has been altered.

The Bottom Line

The Breeze is a good choice for most types of sleepers weighing up to 250 pounds. It provides excellent pressure reliving contouring and improved comfort. It also isolates motion well and reduces heat retention. Lastly, it's sold at a wallet friendly price.

Things change when it comes to XL sleepers. The mattress isn't supportive enough for them. They'll suffer from excess sinking, difficulty moving on its surface and instability upon lying close to the edges. All of that sums up to sleeping experience which is far from ideal.

FAQ

Where is the SweetNight Breeze manufactured?

The Breeze, similar to all of SweetNight's mattresses and related products, is manufactured in China and Indonesia.

How do I set up the SweetNight Breeze?

The Breeze is delivered wrapped in plastic, rolled and compressed in a box. Take the box to the room you've designated for the mattress, unpack the mattress and put it on its foundation. Unroll it and take off the plastic. It'll take the mattress several hours to expand and reach its full size.

Does the SweetNight Breeze have to to be off-gassed?

Once the Breeze is unpacked, its foam will emit a small amount of gas containing volatile organic compounds. You may discern a distinctive odor, but you don't need to be worried; the gas is non-toxic and it'll disperse in about 24 hours. Keeping your room window open will accelerate off-gassing.

Can the SweetNight Breeze be flipped?

The Breeze isn't flippable as its bottom layer consists of highly dense foam not suitable for sleep.

Do I need a special foundation for my new SweetNight Breeze?

The Breeze works well with the majority of the foundations available on the market as long as they're robust enough to carry its weight.

Is the SweetNight Breeze environmentally-friendly?

The Breeze is CertiPUR-US and OEKO-TEX certified. Accordingly, the materials it's made of do not pose any threat to the environment. Moreover, SweetNight is strongly committed to the reduction of volatile organic compound emissions in its manufacturing processes.

Are there any financing options for purchasing the SweetNight Breeze?

SweetNight works with Affirm and afterpay. These companies give you the option to pay for the mattress over time with zero or low interest. To learn more details, go to SweetNight's website.
