Mattress Construction

The Legend all-foam mattress consists of four layers of fibrous polymers and foams. It is designed for high responsiveness and malleability, along with durability and softness.

Cover: This layer actually consists of 25% recycled material (mainly water bottles), and is a soft and cooling fibrous polymer cover that negating the warming effect of the far infrared to help you stay cool and cozy throughout the night.

First support layer: This 2" layer of gel memory foam is infused with far infrared materials that improve blood flow and muscle recovery, and is the core and main selling point of the mattress.

Second support layer: A 2" layer of latex-like responsive foam that has the contouring features of memory foam without being as hugging. This GhostBed exclusive material serves as the main support unit of the mattress, making sure to keep your spine properly aligned as you sleep.

Base layer: The bottom layer of the mattress is an 8" layer of premium durable foam that gives the whole mattress stability and easily supports your full body weight without bowing our sinking to an undesirable degree.

Feel

GhostBed's Legend all-foam mattress has a very responsive, medium firmness feel to it. If you get up from it, it will return to form within a second, but while you lay on it, it will quickly contour to your shape to allow for maximum support and optimal spinal alignment. The far infrared materials infused into the mattress seem to have no effect on its feel.

Pressure Relief

Motion Isolation

While the mattress cancels out most motion, it isn't perfect in this regard. If you're a very light sleeper and your partner tends to toss and turn, you may want to look for a mattress with better motion isolation, such as the Nectar Memory Foam mattress, which, while not infused with far infrared materials, is very similar to the Legend in most respects.

Repositioning

It's surprisingly easy to reposition on the Venus Williams Legend mattress, despite its sinky, medium feel. The mattress is constructed from materials that are responsive enough so you won't feel like you're sinking into quicksand when you lay on top of it. This is great if you tend to switch positions or use the mattress for more things than just sleep.

Edge Support

Only the hybrid version of this mattress features a reiforced edge, but that's mainly because the all-foam version is firmer and doesn't really need one. Unless you're very heavy (in which case a mattress for plus-sized individuals would suit you better anyways), you won't have any issue safely and comfortably sleeping on the edges of this mattress.

Heat Retention

While the Venus Williams Legend mattress features far infrared technology, it is still cool and cozy enough to comfortably sleep on, mainly thanks to its cooling top layer a heat-dissipating innerspring layer. Still, we wouldn't necessarily recommend this mattress to anyone who specifically suffers from sleeping hot, but it's still a good recommendation for anyone else.

Frame & Foundation

The GhostBed Legend all-foam mattress is 12" tall, which is fairly average for mattresses, and due to its regulation sizes would fit any standard frame or foundation. This is great if you already own a great base for the mattress and prefer to continue using it rather than unnecessarily purchasing a new one.

However, if you lack a suitable foundation for the mattress, you can purchase one along with your mattress directly from GhostBed's website. You have the option for an all-in-one solution — an all-metal bed frame and box spring replacement in one. It's height is customizable and it costs $379-$758 (depending on its size) before any discounts. You also have the option of an adjustable base for $1,599-$3,198 (depending on its size) before discounts. The adjustable base features wireless remote control, dual-side USB ports, 15 quiet massage modes and soft, glowing under-bed LED lights.

Needless to say, the mattress is also CertiPUR-US and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, ensuring it's 100% free of any hazardous materials, emits no harmful VOCs, and is even comparatively eco-friendly.

GhostBed offers free and fast shipping for all their products to all 48 continental US states. You'll usually get your mattress within 2-5 days after placing your order. For some locations, an order must be specially made, which is only possible by getting in touch with GhostBed directly via email. This is only relevant to those living in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada and Mexico. The email necessary for making such orders is sleep@ghostbed.com. Orders to Alaska & Hawaii will incur a $600 charge.

GhostBed also offers White Glove Delivery for $199, which extends the delivery time to 1-2 weeks. Once you’ve placed your order, they will ship your items via their delivery company, and you'll receive an email from the delivery team to confirm your order. Once the delivery team has received all your products from GhostBed, they will contact you again to schedule the best day and time for your delivery. If you ordered any other GhostBed products (pillows, sheets, protectors, etc.), those will ship directly to you via FedEx. Upon arrival, the delivery team will unbox and set up your GhostBed mattress (and foundation, if you bought one) and, if need be, remove and dispose of your old mattress along with any packaging materials.

Returns & Warranty

After purchasing the GhostBed Legend, you have 101 nights to return the mattress. You may only issue a return after 30 days of trying out the mattress. This is an industry standard, and a prerequisite for the return, because it is recommended to properly break in your mattress in to try it out, and to let your body slowly adjust to its feel.

GhostBed delivers mattresses incredibly quickly, but because of this, orders cannot be changed or canceled once placed. You ought to ensure that all the details you fill in with GhostBed are 100% accurate. If you ordered your GhostBed mattress through a third party vendor, then the return conditions are that of the third party vendor and not GhostBed.

The GhostBed Legend mattress comes with a 25-year warranty managed by Nature's Sleep, a company that has issued warranties in the mattress industry for decades. During the first 10 years of the mattress' life, GhostBed will provide a replacement mattress at the cost of only shipping and handling fees. After the 11th year until the 25th year, the warranty only covers 50% of the total cost. In order to be eligible for the warranties there are certain conditions that must be met. There are very few mattresses out there that specifically target active people, and if you're one of them and the specs of this mattress suit you, get it. There's really no better mattress out there for you if the Legend suits your lifestyle and sleep preferences.
