The Avocado Organic Luxury Plush consists of a core made of latex and steel coils amidst multiple layers of organic wool, cotton, alpaca fiber and mohair. The Plush version includes another 3’’ layer of micro-coils, organic wool, cotton and silk for a softer feel and enhanced comfort.

Cover: A soft and breathable cotton fabric

Top Panel: 2 layers of wool and alpaca fiber. The second layer is attached to cotton canvas.

An extra 3'' layer comprised of a blend of wool, cotton and silk on top of a system of 1,722 individually encased low-profile micro-coils.

Comfort Layer: 2'' of elastic and resilient Dunlop latex designed to provide 3-zone support. The latex is sewn on consecutive mini-layers of cotton, wool and mohair.

Transition Layer: Additional mini-layers of cotton and wool covering 2" of Dunlop latex attached to an organic hemp pad.

Support Layer: 1,414 8'' individually wrapped coils arranged in 5 zones providing targeted support for separate areas in the body.

Feel

The surface of the Organic Luxury Plush is smooth, gentle and cool to the touch thanks to its delicate and breathable cotton-based cover fabric. The multiple layers of soft materials, such as cotton, wool, alpaca fiber and mohair create a cozy feel.

At the same time, these supple materials respond well to sleepers' body weight. Together with the elastic Dunlop latex, they make the mattress highly buoyant. The coils on their part generate lift, which prevents over-sinking. So as soft as the Organic Luxury Plush may be, you will stay on it and not sink into it in comparison to foam mattresses.

Pressure Relief

The Organic Luxury Plush is highly suitable for lightweight sleepers of all types. Its softness provides cushiness necessary for mitigating pressure points in the hips and shoulders, in the thoracic and lumber spine and in the abdomen and lumbar spine for side, back and stomach sleepers respectively.

Average weight side sleepers will benefit from the support and bounciness provided by the latex and coil layers in the Organic Luxury Plush. This bounciness will keep them afloat and help them maintain healthy posture. The 3-zone support provided by the latex in the comfort layer and the 5 zone support provided by the coil system will target the sensitive areas in their body (the hips and shoulders in particular) preventing over-sinking and consequent pressure buildup in these areas.

Side Sleepers who weigh more than 250 pounds and back and stomach sleepers who weigh more than 150 pounds will find the Organic Luxury Plush to be too soft. It won't be able to support their weight, prevent over-sinking and keep their spine properly aligned. Average weight back sleepers should opt for the Standard version of the Organic Luxury which is more robust. Heavyweight back sleepers and stomach sleepers whose weight exceeds 150 pounds may even need a firmer mattress for plus-size people.

Motion Isolation

The overlapping layers of soft materials in the Organic Luxury Plush, especially the extra layer in the top panel, absorb much of the motion generated by sleepers' movements. The two sets of coils in the mattress are individually wrapped so their capacity for transferring motion is limited.

The bottom line is that although the Organic Luxury Plush doesn't reduce motion transfer as well as a foam mattress, it'll enable you to sleep quietly and calmly even if your partner tends to move a lot at night.

Repositioning

Although the Organic Luxury Plush's springy latex and the two set of coils make the mattress bouncy, its softness may hamper movements especially for heavier sleepers as a result of over-sinking. It's not critical when it comes to simple movements, like changing sleep positions. Yet more intense movements, getting out of bed in particular, will require more effort on their part.

Edge Support

Coil mattresses are usually characterized by good edge support. However, multiple layers made of fluffy and cushy materials make the perimeter of the Organic Luxury Plush susceptible to sagging. Heavier sleepers will tend to move towards the center where its more stable. This reduces the potential sleep area of the mattress.

Heat Retention

Being a soft mattress, the Organic Luxury Plush tends to trap heat as a result of sagging. On the bright side, The cotton, wool, mohair and alpaca fiber it contains are highly breathable materials with high capacity for moisture wicking.

In addition, the latex in the comfort and transition layers doesn't retain much heat in comparison to other materials used for manufacturing mattresses, foam in particular. Most importantly, the Organic Luxury Plush's two layers of coils enable increased flow of air, which assists in keeping it cool.

Like all other Avocado's mattresses, it's made of 100% organic and sustainable materials. The cotton and wool are GOTS certified and the latex is GOLS certified.

In addition, the wool, cotton and latex are certified by GREENGUARD, Climate Neutral, OEKO-TEX, the Forest Stewardship Council, the eco-INSTITUT and the Rainforest Alliance indicating they're produced and processed based on stringent guidelines for low level chemical emissions. They're also manufactured without substances which may endanger sleepers' health or harm the environment. To illustrate that, the mattress' layers are needle-tufted together instead of using toxic solvents or water-based adhesives.

The Organic Luxury will reach your doorstep in up to 7 days. Unlike all other Avocado's mattresses, it doesn't arrive compressed in a box. Avocado will deliver it to your home, put it in the room you have chosen for it and will even remove your old mattress. This white glove delivery service is included in the mattress' price.

The mattress is shipped via FedEx to any destination in the continental USA at an additional cost of $99-$198 per order weighing up to 150 pounds. Mattresses weighing more than that cannot be shipped by FedEx. Avocado charges for shipping them a sum of $249+ depending on weight. Shipping to Hawaii and Alaska requires a 15% surcharge. Currently, Avocado doesn't ship to Canada.

Returns and Warranty

The Luxury Organic Plush comes with a 365-night trial and a break in period of 30 nights. In other words, you will be eligible for a full refund on condition that you return the mattress 30 nights after you received it and no later than 365 nights. The company will donate your returned mattress to charity.

The Luxury Organic is backed by a 25-year partially prorated warranty. During the first 10 years, Avocado will repair or replace your mattress for free. After the 10^th year, you'll have to cover shipping costs in case the mattress is replaced. Furthermore, you'll have to pay 50% of the mattress original price plus 5% extra every year in the next 9 years up to a maximum of 95%.

The warranty applies only to the original buyer. It covers impressions deeper than 2" on the surface of the mattress, cracks in the latex, size variations greater than 2'' and manufacturing defects, among which are fabric tearing or stitching unraveling.

The warranty doesn't cover natural wear-and-tear and accidental damage including burning marks or stains. It becomes void if the mattress isn't treated properly or if it's placed on an improper foundation, that is, a foundation which has less than 4 legs for a Twin, XL Twin or Full size mattress and less than 5-6 legs for a Queen, King and California King mattress. If you choose to use a slat bed, the slats have to be at least 2.5'' thick and no more than 5'' apart.
