Mattress Construction

The Zoma Hybrid is 12'' thick. To support sleepers, it uses highly resilient and flexible poly foam, steel coils and hardened poly foam. To contour their body and enhance their comfort, the mattress' top layer consists of body-conforming memory foam.

Cover: Soft and breathable fabric made of polyester (97%) and spandex (3%). The fabric is filled with tiny holes to increase its ability to wick moisture from sleepers skin. 

Comfort layer: 2'' of gel-infused memory foam designed to mold to sleepers' body and relieve pressure. The gel assists in dispersing excess heat. The foam is also perforated for better moisture wicking.

Transition Layer: 2'' of responsive and resilient medium density poly foam generating bounce and elevating sleepers' body.

Support Layer: 7'' individually encased coils supporting sleepers' body and curbing sinkage.

Base layer: 1'' of hardened high density poly foam, which supports the coils as they compress and reinforces the mattress as a whole.

Feel

The soft and breathable cover of the Zoma Hybrid gives a plush and smooth feel. It keeps the surface of the mattress dry and cool even after prolonged sleep.

The 2'' malleable memory foam in the mattress' upper layer enables pleasant sinking, which cradles the body maximizing comfort. The responsive medium density poly foam in the transition layer generates lift and prevents a quicksand effect by countering the sinkage the memory foam above causes. The coils further increase sleepers' stability by delivering supportive bounce.

Pressure Relief

The Zoma Hybrid is a great fit for side sleepers of all weights. Its top comfort layer will wrap their body alleviating pressure in sensitive areas, the hips and shoulders in particular. The springy medium density poly foam in the transition layer below will also assist in mitigating pressure by quickly responding to these areas. Lastly, the coils will curb sinking especially when it comes to heavyweight sleepers enabling them to maintain a healthy sleeping position.

Back sleepers who weigh up to 250 pounds will also feel comfortable lying on the Zoma Hybrid. The cushy memory foam will target their low and middle back preventing the accumulation of pressure. The bouncy poly foam in the transition layer and the coils will keep these areas in their back elevated and their spine properly aligned.

Most heavyweight back sleepers will get along fine with the Zoma Hybrid. They'll get the support they need from the transition layer and coils to remain 'on' the mattress and not 'in' it as a result of excess sinking. However, some XL sleepers, especially those who weigh close to or more than 300 pounds, will require a mattress firmer than the Zoma Hybrid to carry their massive body.

The Zoma Hybrid is a good choice for stomach sleepers who weigh up to 250 pounds. The mattress' contouring memory foam will cushion their abdomen and help reduce pressure in their lumbar back. The responsive poly foam in the transition layer and the coils will lift the area under their rib cage making sure their spine won't be thrown out of its natural alignment.

Heavier stomach sleepers whose weight exceeds 250 pounds will plunge too deep into the mattress despite the support delivered by the coils. These sleepers are advised to look for mattresses built for plus-size people.

Motion Isolation

The Zoma Hybrid isolates motion mediocrely, so if your partner tends to toss and turn a lot during the night or if you're a light sleeper, it might not be the best choice for you.

The soft memory foam in the mattress' comfort layer absorbs some of the energy generated by sleepers' movements, but the responsive poly foam and the coils below transfer much of the energy which wasn't absorbed.

The coils are individually wrapped so their capacity for motion transfer is lower than traditional spring systems. However, compared to foam, they're less effective as motion insulators.

Repositioning

The supple 2'' poly foam in the Zoma Hybrid's transition layer and the coils in the support layer create sufficient bounce to prevent sleepers, including the heavier ones, from being stuck in the mattress despite the top layer of contouring memory foam. They'll encounter little difficulty maneuvering on the mattress' surface.

The ease of movement the mattress allows makes it perfect for intimate activity as couples will be able to change positions without exerting too much effort.

Edge Support

The Zoma Hybrid is stable around its perimeter. The resilient poly foam in the transition layer, the 7'' coils and the hardened poly foam in the base layer provide strong support for sleepers who lie close to the edge.

Having said that, sleepers heavier than 250 pounds may experience some sagging while lying away from the center, but not to the extent of falling off the bed.

Heat Retention

Hybrid mattresses usually excel at regulating temperature, and the Zoma Hybrid is no exception to that. Its breathable and perforated cover fabric enables excellent sweat-wicking keeping sleepers body dry. The gel infused in the memory foam disperses heat across the mattress. Finally, the coils facilitate the free flow of air in and out of the mattress aiding in the cooling process. Practically speaking, the Zoma Hybrid is a good choice for sleepers living in hot and humid areas.

Frame & Foundation

The Zoma Hybrid is compatible with the majority of the foundations, frames and adjustable bases you can find on the market provided that they're firm enough to support its weight. If you opt for a slat bed, you'll have to make certain that the slats are at least 0.5'' thick and are no more than 3'' apart.

The Zoma Hybrid doesn't work well with a box spring, but if you still want to use one, you'll have to place a flat piece of 0.75'' thick plywood on top to get even support for the mattress and protect it from moisture.

Zoma puts at your disposal its own sleep platforms. The Zoma Foundation is an affordable and easy to assemble robust pine wood frame, which can carry a maximum weight of 800 pounds (400 pounds per side). It comes with a breathable 100% polyester knit fabric, spaced wooden slats and optional attachable legs. It's sold with a 1-year warranty and is shipped for free. Minimum price is $350 for a Twin size mattress. Maximum price is $450 for a California King size mattress.

The Zoma Adjustable Bed is manufactured from industrial-grade steel. It's covered with polyester stylish grey upholstery and is fitted with 3'', 6'' or 9'' legs enabling it to support up to 700 pounds. Additional Details

Zoma is a business-to-consumer company located in Scottsdale, Arizona. It sells two mattress types — the all-foam Zoma Start and the Zoma Hybrid. These mattresses are 100% American made.

The foam used to manufacture Zoma's mattresses is CertiPUR-US certified indicating it contains no ozone depleters, PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (“Tris”) flame retardants, formaldehyde, phthalates, heavy metals and any other materials which may risk sleepers' health or threaten the environment. Equally important, Zoma follows strict guidelines aimed at reducing the emissions of volatile organic compounds in order to make sure its customers breathe clean indoor air.

Shipping & Delivery

The Zoma Hybrid will be delivered to you wrapped in plastic, rolled and compressed in a 19''^x19''^x42.5'' box in up to 10 business days. You'll be required to carry the box to the room you've designated for the mattress, unpack the mattress and set it up. At present, Zoma doesn't include white glove delivery on its list of services.

The Zoma is shipped within the contiguous USA free of charge. The company doesn't ship to destinations such as Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico. You have the option to use the services of a freight forwarder, but you'll have to manage shipping and bear the extra costs.

Returns & Warranty

The Zoma Hybrid comes with a 100-night trial and a break in period of 30 nights. In other words, you can return the mattress and expect to get a full refund after you slept on it for at least 30 nights and no later than 100 nights. In case you decide to return the mattress earlier than the mandatory 30 nights, you'll be charged a processing fee of $99.

The mattress is backed by a 10-year warranty. The warranty applies only to the original buyer and it covers faulty workmanship, structural defects and premature deterioration of the foam including impressions on the surface deeper than 1''. In case the mattress needs to be repaired or replaced, the customer may be required to pay for labor and shipping.

The warranty doesn't cover the following:

• accidental damage, for example cuts, tears and burning marks.
• a normal increase in the softness of the mattress' materials.
• a normal decrease in the recovery characteristics of the foam.

Furthermore, the warranty will be annulled if the law tag is removed, if the mattress is ill-treated and if it's placed on a foundation which is either improper or inadequately supportive, e.g. a slat bed whose slats are thinner than 0.5'' and are more than 3'' apart.
