Mattress Construction

Apart from its cover fabric, the GravityLux has three layers. Each layer consists of a unique type of foam with unique qualities designed to make the mattress body-contouring as well as sufficiently supportive to help sleepers maintain proper posture.

The soft, medium and firm models share the same materials and construction and are only different from one another in their capacity for providing support.

The layers of the GravityLux

Cover: An Eucalyptus-derived Tencel fabric, which is soft and breathable enabling effective moisture wicking. The cover is padded with 2'' of gel-infused poly foam adding contouring to the mattress surface.

Comfort Layer: 2'' of AirCell memory foam made of minuscule air capsules capable of absorbing sleepers weight and movements significantly reducing pressure and isolating motion. The air capsules also enable air circulation which regulates the temperature of the mattress.

Transition Layer: Zoned progression poly foam which targets different areas in the body providing advanced point pressure relief keeping sleepers' spines properly aligned.

Support Layer: Highly dense (1.8 PCF) and extremely robust Atlas Core poly foam increasing the mattress durability and providing it with strong support by resisting sagging.

Feel

The soft and gentle Tencel fabric covering the mattress gives a silk-like feel. It's also cool to the touch.

The AirCell memory foam in the comfort layer wraps the body providing a cozy sleep experience. The soft and the medium models allow more sinking than the firm model whose stiffness is necessary for generating better lift and supporting heavier sleepers.

No matter on which model you'll sleep, the zoned progression poly foam in the transition layer focuses its support on different areas perfectly molding to your body making you feel more stable on the mattress.

Pressure Relief

The GravityLux's three firmness models make it highly suitable for side sleepers of all weights. The 2'' gel-infused poly foam in the cover together with the extra soft AirCell memory foam in the comfort layer provide them with ample pressure relieving contouring.

The zoned poly foam in the transition layer is firmer in the center of the mattress and softer in its upper and lower parts. This prevents pressure from accumulating in the hips and shoulders, which are the most problematic areas for side sleepers, while optimally supporting the lumbar and thoracic spine.

Lightweight side sleepers should opt for the GravityLux's soft model. Average weight sleepers will enjoy a good balance of contouring and support sleeping on the medium model. XL sleepers will most likely prefer the firm model as it can sufficiently carry their heavy weight.

Similar to side sleepers, lightweight back sleepers will find the soft model to be highly comfortable. The memory foam will pleasantly shape to their body weight mitigating pressure points in the cervical spine.

Average weight back sleeper will need a more supportive mattress, which is still contouring enough. Accordingly, they'll prefer the medium model. The zoned support provided by the transition layer will target their lumbar area keeping their spine properly aligned.

Plus-size back sleepers will want the firm model to avoid over-sagging which may lead to back pain.

Stomach sleepers needs a more supportive mattress which will not sink in their abdomen area. Although lightweight sleepers will get along well with the soft model, they will feel better on the more supportive medium version of the GravityLux.

Sleepers whose weight exceeds150 pounds will need the firm model. The zoned support provided by the transition layer, especially the denser foam in the mattress' midsection, and the overall enhanced support of that model will make them feel more stable while still benefiting from the plush gel-infused poly foam on the surface of the mattress and the memory foam in the comfort layer.

Motion Isolation

The GravityLux does a wonderful job isolating motion. The gel poly foam in its cover and the memory foam in its comfort layer absorb most of the kinetic energy generated by sleepers' movements. Practically speaking, you'll hardly notice your partner's movements, even the more intense ones.

Naturally, the firmer model which is less contouring, has lower capacity for absorbing motion. Yet, compared to latex and coil mattresses, it'll promise you calm and quiet nights.

Repositioning

As can be expected from an all-foam mattress, the GravityLux doesn't score high when it comes to ease of movement. Its foam cradles sleepers' body and hinders movement. On the bright side, the poly foam in the cover is more responsive than the memory foam in the comfort layer and, so, makes moving on the surface of the mattress a little easier.

The soft and medium models of the GravityLux allow more sinking and tend to constrain sleepers more than the firm model.

Edge Support

The GravityLux doesn't have coils to reinforce its perimeter, so you may experience sagging on its edges. Light and average weight sleepers won't usually have a problem, but plus-size sleepers may find themselves moving to the center of the mattress where it's more stable. The firm model is more robust on its edges, which makes it a better choice for these heavier sleepers.

Heat Retention

The GravityLux is designed for keeping sleepers cool at night. The Tencel Fabric in the cover is highly breathable aiding in moisture wicking. The AirCell memory foam below has an open-cell structure which minimizes heat retention. Of all the models, the firm one is the coolest as it enables less sinking.

Frame & Foundation

The GravityLux works well with the majority of foundations, bed frames and adjustable bases available on the market. WinkBeds puts at your disposal its own manufactured platforms. Its foundation will perfectly support your new GravityLux. Its prices range from $279 for a Twin size mattress to $369 for a California King mattress.

WinkBeds' Heavy Duty Bed Frame is a sturdy construct built from fiberglass infused with resin. It can carry more than 2,500 pounds. It can't stand on its own as it needs a frame or foundation. Its prices vary from $150 for a Twin size mattress to $250 for a California King mattress.

The Winkbase 2.0 is a single piece adjustable base offering you weightless, zero-G support and a one-touch remote. Its starting price is $949 for a twin XL mattress. Maximum price is $1,399 for a California King Mattress. It comes with a 10-year limited warranty.
