Mattress Construction

The Saatva Youth is a dual-sided hybrid mattress that is designed to be the only bed your child will ever need. Every layer of the mattress is either dual-sided or has a corresponding layer on the other side of the mattress, creating a supportive bed that transitions to fit the child's needs as they develops into adolescence.

Cover Layer: The top layer of the Years 3-7 side is a soft, breathable and water-resistant cover made of organic cotton. It protects the mattress against spills and accidents a child would be prone to, keeping the mattress free of stains and bacteria. It is also treated with Saatva's trademarked Guardian antimicrobial treatment, which further inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew.

Foam Layer: This foam layer is CertiPUR-US certified, meaning that it's 100% of all harmful substances, and features a 5-zone support makeup that makes the mattress firmer in its center third. This helps maintain proper spinal alignment for younger children, which is important for encouraging proper growth.

Innerspring Layer: The Saatva Youth's most center layer is the only dual-sided layer of the mattress. It is an innerspring layer made out of a mesh of strong yet flexible steel coils. Keeps the mattress a medium-firm, which is optimal for a child's growing body.

This $200 foundation is available in two heights: 4.75" and 8.75", and you can add a metal frame to it for decorative purposes for $119.

Additional Details

Saatva offers up to $450 in discounts, but since it goes up with the size of the purchase and the mattress is fairly cheap when compared to Saatva's other mattresses, you'll only get a discount of $200, and only if you also purchase something else alongside it (such as a foundation and a metal frame) so the purchase exceeds $1,000.

Shipping & Delivery

The Saatva Youth mattress is tailored to your specifications before being hand delivered past your doorstep and your child's bedroom, where the delivery professionals will also set it up for you. If the new mattress can’t fit up your staircase, Saatva will exchange it for one of a different size or height, or take it back at no charge to you and issue a refund with only a $99 charge that covers the cost of labor and gas for the delivery. If your child had an older bed you want to get rid off, the delivery professionals can do that for you at no additional cost.

Unlike other online mattress companies, Saatva doesn't sell compressed mattresses. There will be no need to wait for the mattress to decompress or off-gas, which is all the better, since kids are generally very sensitive to smells — especially chemical smells.

You will get a call from the delivery company the day before your chosen delivery date. If you need to cancel, you won’t be charged a fee. Returns & Warranty

Let’s face it. Kids aren't very careful around appliances and furniture, and tend to shorten the lifespan of most items considerably. Thankfully, the Saatva Youth mattress is designed to last the entire 9 years between ages 3-12. Its coils, for once, can definitely take a beating, which is perfect for children who may use their bed as a trampoline just as much as they use it for sleep. The quality of the bed's foam is also above and beyond what you would normally find in a kid's mattress, and should last even under the care of a child.

In addition to these, though, Saatva offers a 12 year warranty with the Youth mattress, which is more than you'll probably need, and which covers any damage naturally caused to the mattress. You can also let your kid try it out for 180 nights, and if they don't like it and you decide to replace it before the end of that period, you may do so for only $99. This is a labor and transport fee, as Saatva delivery professionals will come and pick up the mattress from your house for you. The $99 fee will also apply if you just want to trade for a different mattress that may better suit your child or the measurements of their room. Do make sure to measure things beforehand, though.
