The Avocado Vegan is a hybrid mattress constructed from an elastic Dunlop latex and robust steel coils. It's bouncy and supportive and, therefore, highly suitable for heavier sleepers. Mattress Construction

The Vegan consists of a cotton cover fabric and a thick latex-based comfort layer on top of a coil system. Purchasers may opt for a pillow-top, which adds plushness and softness to the mattress.

Pillow-top (optional): 2'' of supple latex making the mattress much cushier.

Cover: A fabric made of soft and breathable cotton assisting in moisture wicking.

Comfort Layer: 2" of hyper-elastic Dunlop latex giving the mattress a cushy feel while at the same time making it bouncy. The latex has a perforated structure, which enables free flow of air keeping the mattress cool.

Support Layer: 1,414 8'' pocketed steel coils generating lift and preventing sinkage. The coils are individually tuned in three gauges (14, 16 and 17 gauge) and grouped in 5 zones to provide targeted support for different areas in the body.

Base Layer: 1'' of hardened latex functioning as the mattress' base.

Feel

The cover fabric is smooth and gentle.The breathable cotton keeps the mattress' surface cool to the touch.

The mattress is highly bouncy thanks to the springy latex in the comfort layer. The robust coil system makes sleepers feel highly supported with minimum sinkage.

The pillow top adds some plushness to the mattress making it much softer and cozier mitigating body pressure and soothing the muscles.

Pressure Relief

Low and average weight side sleepers may find the vegan to be too firm and incapable of relieving pressure in their hips and shoulders. Adding the pillow-top will provide better cradling and help them get rid of excessive pressure.

The mattress contains 100% organic and sustainable materials with no animal-based products. The coils are constructed from recycled steel. The cotton is GOTS certified. The Latex is GOLS certified. Both the cotton and the latex are also certified by OEKO-TEX, the Forest Stewardship Council, the eco-INSTITUT and the Rainforest Alliance. These certifications guarantee they contain materials which are neither toxic nor environmentally harmful. Equally important, the mattress' layers are hand-tufted without the use of toxic solvents or water-based adhesives.

Shipping & Delivery

The Vegan is shipped to any destination in the continental USA. Mattresses weighing up to 150 pounds are shipped via FedEx at an additional price of $99-$198 per order. Larger mattresses which cannot be shipped via FedEx, demand an extra fee of $249+ based on their weight. Shipping to Hawaii and Alaska requires an additional surcharge of 15% of the total amount of the purchase. Avocado doesn't ship to Canada.

The Mattress will reach your doorstep wrapped in two plastic layers, rolled and compressed in a box in up to 7 business days. You'll have to carry the box to your chosen room, unpack the mattress and set it up by yourself.

Alternatively, you can opt for white glove delivery, which includes removing your old mattress as well. The price of this type of delivery depends on the weight of the product you ordered. Minimum and maximum prices are $249 and $899 for 190 pounds and 1,600 pounds respectively.

Returns and Warranty

The Vegan comes with a 365-night trial and a break in period of 30 days. In other words, to get a full refund in case you're not satisfied with the mattress, you'll have to sleep on it at least 30 nights. You'll be able to return it no later than 365 nights. Returned mattresses are donated to charity.

The Vegan is backed by an extended 25-year partially prorated warranty. In the first 10 years, Avocado will repair or replace the mattress at zero cost for the purchaser. After the 10^th year, you'll be required to pay 50% of repairing costs as well as additional 5% for every year up to 95% in the 20^th year.

The warranty covers visible indentations deeper than 1.5'' on the surface of the mattress, deterioration of the latex including splits or cracks, manufacturing defects like stitching unraveling and fabric tearing and size variations greater than 2'' in any dimension.

The warranty is applied only to the original purchaser of the mattress. It doesn't cover normal wear-and-tear (including normal increase in softness resulting from normal usage), normal body impressions, accidental damage like stains and burning marks and mold, odors and discoloration caused by abnormal care, improper ventilation and exposure to excessive water and humidity.

The warranty becomes void if the mattress is placed on an improper foundation incapable of supporting it or on a bed frame which has less than 4 legs for a Twin, Twin XL or a Full mattress and less than 5-6 legs for a bigger size mattress. The slats have to be at least 2.5'' thick. They mustn't be more than 5'' apart.
