Mattress Construction

The Allswell Hybrid is 10'' thick. It consists of a cover fabric and two additional layers of memory foam and steel coils.

Cover: Plush polyester fabric quilted with 0.5'' medium density poly foam for added pressure relief.

Comfort layer: 2.5'' of conforming memory foam infused with graphite and copper gel, which draw heat away from the body.

Support Layer: 7'' individually encased steel coils. The perimeter of the coil system is reinforced for better edge support.

Sleepers may opt for an additional 2'', 3'' or 4'' memory foam-based topper for enhanced pressure relieving comfort. Each topper is infused with graphite and copper gel to lower heat retention. Prices are $68, $79 and $99 respectively.

Feel

The Allswell Hybrid doesn't offer the deep cradling sensation characteristic of many foam and foam and coil mattresses. Its 0.5'' medium density poly foam in the cover and the 2.5'' memory foam in the comfort layer provide some bounce and contouring. Yet the dominant feel the mattress gives is that of strong support thanks to the robust 7'' coils, which elevate the body and increase sleepers' sense of stability by keeping them 'on' the mattress instead of 'in' it. All in all, the Allswell Hybrid has a firm firmness level making it a perfect mattress for heavier sleepers.

Pressure Relief

The Allswell Hybrid will be too stiff for light and average weight side sleepers. Lying on a firm mattress with a relatively thin 2.5'' comfort layer, these sleepers won't get enough contouring to mitigate pressure in their hips and shoulders.

On the other hand, their heavier counterparts, who weigh more than 250 pounds require much less contouring. The 0.5'' medium density poly foam in the mattress' cover and the 2.5'' malleable memory foam below will provide them with the contouring they need. The coils will support their more massive body making sure their spine will remain straight.

The Allswell Hybrid is great fit back sleepers of all weights. The bouncy poly foam in the cover and the slow responding memory foam in the comfort layer will relieves pressure points in their lower and middle back. At the same time, the coils will elevate these areas enabling these sleepers to maintain a healthy position throughout the night.

Most stomach sleepers weighing less than 150 pounds won't feel comfortable lying on the Allswell Hybrid. Their abdomen will be inadequately cushioned resulting in pressure and pain felt mainly in their lumbar back.

In contrast, stomach sleepers heavier than 150 pounds will like the mattress. Its strong support will avert excess sinkage in the body section below their rib cage keeping their spine properly aligned. Motion Isolation

The Allswell Hybrid has medium capacity for motion isolation. Its coils are individually wrapped, which reduces motion transfer. But its body-conforming memory foam-based comfort layer is too thin to absorb a large portion of the kinetic energy generated by sleepers' movements. Practically speaking, if your partner doesn't frequently toss and turn in his/her sleep, you shouldn't have a problem. However, if that partner tends to move a lot during the night and/or you are a restless sleeper, you should opt for a more contouring mattress which can better isolate motion.

Repositioning

The Allswell Hybrid's comfort layer doesn't cause too much sinkage, which may trap sleepers in bed and hamper their movement. In addition, the bouncy medium density poly foam in the cover fabric and the 7'' coils generate much lift, increase the mattress' responsiveness and enable sleepers to reposition themselves without exerting too much effort.

Edge Support

The Allswell Hybrid has excellent edge support. Its coil system, which is reinforced around the perimeter renders the mattress exterior highly stable. That means sleepers, including the heavier ones, can safely lie on the edges without fear of falling out of bed. Consequently, they'll enjoy a much larger sleep surface.

Heat Retention

The Allswell Hybrid effectively regulates temperature. Its memory foam comfort layer doesn't generate much sinkage, so it doesn't tend to trap a large amount of heat. Most of the heat that it does retain is dissipated owing to the graphite and copper gel. These materials are capable of conducting thermal energy and emitting it. Finally, the coils facilitate the free flow of air in and out of the mattress aiding in the cooling process. Frame & Foundation

The Allswell Hybrid doesn't require a specific platform. It can be put on any foundation, frame or adjustable base sold on the market as long as they're supportive enough with minimal or no flex. In addition, the mattress can be used with a box spring or a slat bed. If you choose the latter, make sure the slats aren't more than 4'' apart.

Allswell manufactures and sells two platforms. The first is the Convertible Bed Frame. It's an easy to assemble steel construct which can be converted from Twin size into Full size and from Queen size into King size. The Twin/Full frame costs $89. The Queen/King frame costs $99.

The Adjustable Bed Frame comes with custom presets (including zero-gravity and anti-snore) and is voice command enabled. It features USB charges and whisper-quiet motors. It's designed for Twin XL, Full and Queen size mattresses and is priced at $699, $799 and $819 respectively.

Allswell is an online retailer which sells mattresses and bedroom accessories. All its products are made in the United States. The company was founded in 2017 and is owned by Walmart.

The Allswell Hybrid, much like the rest of the company's mattresses, is CertiPUR-US certified indicating it doesn't contain ozone depleters, PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (“Tris”) flame retardants, formaldehyde, phthalates, heavy metals and any other materials which can endanger sleepers' health or cause damage to the environment. Equally important, the mattress has low volatile organic compound emissions for improved indoor air quality.

Shipping & Delivery

The Allswell Hybrid will arrive at your doorstep rolled, wrapped in two layers of plastic and compressed in a box in up to ten business days. You can opt for an express 2-day shipping at an extra cost of $75. Due to COVID-19, the company has suspended its white glove delivery service, so you'll have to set up the mattress by yourself.

Shipping within the 48 contiguous states is free of charge. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is available for an additional fee of $50. However, expedite shipping to these two latter states in unavailable.

Returns & Warranty

The Allswell Hybrid can be returned for a full refund in up to 100 nights from the moment it has been delivered to the customer. The company recommends sleeping on the mattress for at least three weeks before deciding to return it so as to let the body get used to it.

The Allswell Hybrid is backed by a 10-year limited warranty. The warranty is valid only to the original buyer and it covers defects in workmanship and materials. These defects include indentation on the surface deeper than 1.5'' as well as any physical flaw related to the degradation of the foam, such as splits and cracks, which isn't the result of improper use of the mattress.

The warranty doesn't cover accidental and environmental damage (e.g. burning marks, stains, spills, moisture saturation, insects, rodents and weather and sun exposure) and normal increase of softness in the foam, which hasn't reduced the mattress' pressure relief properties. The warranty will be annulled if the mattress is placed on an improper foundation (see Frame & Foundation), if the mattress is ill-treated and neglected and if the law tag is removed as the latter is considered a proof of purchase.
